SUMMARY:Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Day
DESCRIPTION:Residents of Caroline\, Kent\, Queen Anne’s\, and Talbot Counties are encouraged to mark their calendars for the Spring 2026 Midshore Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Drop-Off Day. \nSaturday\, April 11\, 2026\n8:00 AM – 2:00 PM\nQueen Anne’s County Public Works\n312 Safety Drive\, Centreville\, MD 21617 \nHHW Drop- Off Day will be held rain or shine and is free to Midshore County residents (Caroline\, Kent\, Queen Anne’s\, and Talbot Counties). \nAcceptable Household Hazardous Waste Items Include: \n\nGas\, gas/oil mixtures\, and automotive fuels\nEmpty propane cylinders (#40 size and smaller)\nAcids\, cleaners\, and solvents\nChemicals (pool\, darkroom\, etc.)\nPesticides\, insecticides\, and herbicides\nOil-based paint\, paint thinner\, stains\, turpentine\, wood preservatives\, and wood strippers\nFluorescent tubes and lamps (limit 15)\nMercury thermometers\n\n Acceptable Electronics: \n\nComputers and peripherals (keyboards\, laptops\, monitors\, mice\, printers\, cables\, modems\, etc.)\nTVs\, remotes\, VCR\, CD\, and DVD players (limit 4 TVs)\nCB radios\, fax machines\, answering machines\, and copiers\n\n Latex Paint Guidance: \nUsable latex paint (pourable\, no mold or mildew) will be accepted for recycling. Residents should not bring unusable latex paint to the event. Instead\, solidify the paint using an absorbent material such as kitty litter\, dirt\, or mulch and dispose of it in regular household trash. \n Unacceptable Items: \n\nHousehold trash\nExplosives and ammunition\nMedical or radioactive waste\nCompressed gas cylinders other than those listed above\nAsbestos\nSmoke detectors\nAppliances\nPower tools and power tool batteries\nTires\nHousehold batteries\nRoad or marine flares\nLiquid containers larger than 5 gallons\n\nPlease note: \n\nHHW includes household wastes that are toxic\, corrosive\, ignitable\, or reactive.\nLimit of 20 gallons or 250 pounds of acceptable waste per residence.\nNo business\, commercial\, or industrial customers or materials will be accepted.\n\nThis event is in no way associated with Queen Anne’s County Local Management Board.
